A brand nested in the heart of Mdina


Xara Collection





Medina, a 500-year-old restaurant in one of the Silent City’s typical winding alleys, provides a gastronomic experience in a unique dining ambiance. This jewel of an eatery forms part of the Xara Collection – a collection of brands which operate within the Hospitality and Catering industry in Malta.

The Xara Collection were refurbishing the Medina restaurant to give it a modernised approach and attract local clientele and tourists all year round. As part of a wider brand transformation process, Xara Collection approached the Concept Stadium team and outlined the core objectives to future-proof the brand offering elevated food and beverage moments.

The Concept Stadium team conceptualised a new brand identity to complement the restaurant’s look and feel in line with the crafted brand vision and strategy. The thought process behind the creation of this brand was to integrate the various elements that make up the new identity – the Maltese ‘karozzin’ horses going around Mdina, the acoustics played inside the restaurant, the interiors and the general ambiance.

Following the creation of the new identity, a new website was designed and developed, serving as an additional customer touch point.

For brand consistency, the team also worked on a fully fledged brand guidelines containing the tone of voice, brand do’s and don’ts, imagery guidelines and other aspects to maintain brand standards.
